Chrisette Michele Feat.Wale - Fragile

FINALLY! The long anticipated video for her third single, Fragile, my favorite song off of her new album Epiphany. Often we hear a song and the words pull us in, makes you stop what you're doing and you actually feel every word in the song. You listen a little closer and you BECOME the song! What I love about Chrisette Michele is the soulfulness of her voice that touches both young and young at heart and the meaningful lyrics that tell OUR STORIES. There's no denying her vocal talent, the girl can blow. But few artists have what she has and that's a voice that is so distinguished and so powerful that without seeing her you are drawn in to wanting more of her voice and your curiosity of the face behind the voice follows. This was the case on Jay-Z's Lost Ones the voice on the hook that made that song bigger than it was?

Today artists are packaged and branded as an image based on what THEY feel is appealing and acceptable to the public. What we get are artists whose packages are beautifully wrapped but their talent can't be held to a church choir leader or the average person singing on the corner. Chrisette Michele is blessed with both a God-given talent and beauty yet she may fall to the back of the pack in popularity, her voice carries her far above the masses of her competitors. Like her first album we got a little of who she was but on Epiphany, she allows you to see more of her life experiences through each song. As far as the video, I'll have to say I think I would've preferred it best without Wale's intro. The song needs nothing but to hear the story behind the words....
